Youth Tennis Program


Tennis can be a lifetime sport which can be played competitvely or for recreation for years. Boys and Girls in grades 2 - 8 are encouraged to take part in the summer tennis program. Basic fundamentals will be covered along with a mix of tennis related games and activities.   There will be three different skill levels. Sign up at BRCC  The fee of $10 is due upon registration.  Fee will cover lessons as well as the tournament entry and awards. Lessons  will be held from June 4th through June 13th at the FSHS Tennis Courts.



Pre Tennis

This program will be for children in grades 2 & 3. The goal here will be to introduce tennis related or lead up skills for younger children with emphasis on racket and balls.  Class will meet on Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays from 8 - 8:30 a.m.


Level I  (Beginner to Intermediate)


Continued work on racket and ball skills along with introduction to basic stroke production and tennis related games. This program will be for children in grades 4 - 8.  Class will meet on Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m.


Level II. (Intermediate to Advance)


Continued work on basic stroke production along with single and double plays. This program will be for children in grades 4 - 8.  Class will meet on Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.


Level III. (Advance Play)

Work on various strokes, as well as strategy preparation for competition.  Single and Double play will be covered.  This program is for anyone in the 9 - 12 grades.  Class will meet on Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.







All the hard work in lessons will be put to the test in this singles tournament for all levels.    Tournament will be held the last week of lessons at the H.S. courts.  Winners in each division will receive awards. 


Little Athletes Camp

 This week long camp will introduce a variety of sports and techniques to your little ones.  Kids will get an opportunity to learn skills in  basketball, soccer, dodgeball & volleyball.  Although we will be teaching techniques, our goal is to develop an appreciation for all types of sports and emphasize sportsmanship.  The camp will be held at Buck Run Community Center from May 28th - 31st from 1 - 2 p.m.

Ages:   4 - 7 years

Fee:   $5.00


Sports Camp

Come join the fun!  Learn the fundamentals of  basketball, soccer, dodgeball & volleyball.  Skills will be taught for each sport with games being played each day.  The class will be held  on May 28th - 31st  from 2 - 3 p.m.  Please pre-register at  BRCC.

Adventure Camp

This week long camp will be an adventure everyday.  Each day will be a different theme. One day will be various sports, another day, may be water games,  we will go fishing and more. Come check it out!  The camp will be supervised by FSRC Staff.  Maximum supervision will be enforced at all times.  The camp will be held from July 22nd - 26th from 2 - 4 p.m.

Tiger Drama Performance Camp


Tiger Drama Camp has expanded to include a full-scale performance! Join the FSHS Thespians and Director Angie Bin to learn acting, movement, and vocal performance skills, culminating in a public performance of a play at the Fort Scott High School Auditorium on June 7 and 8.  Open to all children going into 1st-9th grades.  Rehearsals are 12:30 -4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday beginning May 28th. A $40 fee includes a camp t-shirt.  Parents should attend a meeting at 12:30 p.m. at the first rehearsal on May 28th.  For more information, call

2019 Junior Golf Camp


 REGISTRATION: Registration will begin May 1st, 2019. Juniors may register to attend camp at the Woodland Hills Clubhouse. 2019 Junior Camp will cost $50 per child and will be limited to the first 8 juniors per session. Payment is due at Registration, check or cash only. (Make Checks Payable to Shannon O’Neil)


FORMAT: Each Junior will be able to attend 6 one-hour group golf lessons taught by PGA Professional Shannon O’Neil. Lessons will cover the basics of grip, stance, swing, putting, chipping, rules and etiquette. All skill levels are welcome though the lessons will best serve those at the beginner level.


DATES: Lessons will be held at the Woodland Hills Golf Course on the following dates: June 11,18,25 & July 9, 16, & 23


TIME: Juniors - ages 8-10 yrs.: 9-10 am

 Juniors  - ages 11-13 yrs.: 10:15 – 11:15 am
