NO School!           No Problem!               Skate Days @ BRCC


The Fort Scott Recreation Commission is offering roller skating for the youth to enjoy while they are out of school.  Staff will supervise and organize the skate or activities for the youth to get exercise, socialize and have fun!  Any boy or girl (ages 7  - 12 years) are invited to participate. Parents/Guardian need to be present while the kids skate.  Fee is $3.00 per person! The events will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 noon each date. Each date will have a different theme. See below …


Oct. 21st - Halloween - Dress up in costume to win prizes while you skate!

Dec. 16th - Christmas @ BRCC - Gifts will be raffled off every 15 minutes

Feb. 20th - Winter Theme - Ugly sweater/sweatshirt contest

March 3rd - Spring is in the Air - Beach Day! Wear your favorite shades and Hawaiian Shirt!


Dragoon Charge - 5K Run or Walk


This annual road race is held during the Good Ol’ Days festival, June 3rd. A 5K run or walk will begin at Frary Stadium (9th & Main) at approximately 8:00 a.m.  Fees are $10 prior to race day and $15 the day of the race. Register at Buck Run Community Center - 735 Scott Ave. in Fort Scott, KS. For information call 620-223-0386


Age division include 16 and under, 17-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 plus.  Medals go to the top male and female finishers in each division.   Each runner/walker will receive a t-shirt with their entry fee. 


5th Annual Good Ol’ Days

Corn Hole Tournament


This event will be held after the annual Good ol’ Days parade on Friday, June 2nd. Doubles teams will compete in a double elimination format beginning at approximately 7:00 p.m. at the Fisher South Ball field. 


Teams must sign up by Friday evening -  6:45 pm, June 2nd prior to the tournament. Team fees are $20.00 per team.  $15. of each entry fee will be used for prize money for the winning teams. 1st place will receive 60% of entry fees collected, 2nd place 30% and 3rd place 10%. Fall Corn Hole League


Registration information and rules are available at Buck Run Community Center, 735 Scott Ave. beginning August 1st. Matches will be played on Monday evenings at the Fisher South Field. League will run for 8 weeks.


START DATE:                    Monday, August 7th

FEE:                               $10/team each week



2 person teams will show up each week at the Fisher South Field at 5:45 p.m., At 6 p.m., based on the number of teams present each week, a double elimination tournament will take place. 80% of the entry fees will be used for prize money. 1st place team will receive 60% of the total, 2nd place 30% and 3rd place 10%.  Divisions will be separated based on ability of teams playing if possible.
